Data Retention

Why some records are kept after transactions

SafeKip keeps records only as reasonably needed for escrow history, fraud prevention, dispute review, compliance, and legal obligations.

SafeKip guidance

Clear policies, secure transaction rules, and practical protection for Nigerian buyers, sellers, freelancers, and businesses.

Transaction and payout records

Escrow, payment, payout, refund, fee, ledger, and receipt records may be retained to support reconciliation, disputes, audits, tax, compliance, and user transaction history.

Verification records

KYC, KYB, bank verification, device, and risk review records may be retained where needed to prevent fraud, support withdrawals, meet legal requirements, or investigate account misuse.

Support and dispute records

Support messages, dispute evidence, officer notes, and case outcomes may be retained while a case is active and afterwards where needed for accountability or legal protection.

Account deactivation

Deactivation restricts access and new activity, but eligible transaction, compliance, audit, fraud prevention, and dispute records may remain securely preserved.

Deletion requests

Users may request deletion of eligible personal data. SafeKip may be unable to delete records immediately where retention is required for active transactions, legal obligations, fraud prevention, or audit history.
